How to Draw Monsters

There is something irresistible about monsters!

If your students like drawing monsters, they will LOVE this drawing packet.  You will get 6 pages of monster drawing choices so that your students can make their own kind of monster.  Each page gives examples and choices for drawing each monster part.  If you enjoy art lessons where each student has unique work, this is the kind of drawing sheets that will help achieve this.

Not only that, I’ve also made 5 Monster Roll & Draw Pages that will be sure to keep your students busy trying out new combinations.  The roll and draw sheets challenge students to try new monster parts.  It is fun to see what kind of monster will be created next!  The roll and draw sheets make a nice addition to your drawing center, or could be used as an activity for early finishers after your original art lesson.

But wait….there’s more!

In addition to the Roll & Draw pages, each Monster Roll & Draw Page has a companion “How to Draw” page with the same choices for students to select from without using the dice.  These pages are great if you want to save paper and just give students one page of choices.  Or if you have a particular project in mind.  For example, #3 uses round bodies and would be great to use if you are making clay monsters out of an upside-down pinch pot.

What you get:

  • 1 page of lesson ideas
  • 6 pages of monster drawing choices and tips
  • 5 pages of Monster Roll & Draw Pages
  • 5 pages of Monster How to Draw Pages

Make a Literacy Connection!

The monster drawing could easily become the inspiration for a creative writing project or be turned into an art project using a variety of media.  How many adjectives can your students think of to describe their monster?

Practice Colors!

The monsters are also a great way to practice color theory!  Have your students make a warm color monster,  contrasting color monster, or maybe a secondary color monster.

Designed to be different:

  • Roll & Draw pages turn drawing into a fun game.
  • Simple drawings ideas help children feel successful.
  • Finding drawing combinations keep kids drawing longer.
  • Drawing choices invite children to think.
