โ FAQs
Do students need prior art skills?
No. The included texture and pattern guides make it easy for all ability levels.
What materials are required?
Markers, colored pencils or crayons, scissors, glue sticks. Texture plates are optional.
Can I use this in black and white?
Yes. Students can still distinguish light and dark areas with grayscale copies. (Although there’s a color key at the bottom of the page that will print in color if that is available to you.)
Is this appropriate for multiple grade levels?
Yes. Works well for buddy classes (older students helping younger students) or entire grade levels.

This was so much fun! I had a small class the few days that we worked on this so my students ended up coloring a few pages but they loved it. When they were done coloring, I had them work as a “team” to put it all together, with no help from me! Once it was completed, we were able to have a conversation about what it meant to work as a team and how veterans/soldiers work as a team. Thanks for the great resource!

We used this on a day with a lot of other activities. It was awesome because we could leave it and then come back. The squares aren’t too big. They got to do more than one and it looks really great hanging on the wall. I would recommend it. You do need to print it in color so they can see where the light and dark color goes. Thanks for a great resource!
